NotificationsMoodle Support team are happy to advise that Notifications have now been enabled for assignments in Moodle.

What does this mean?

Now when you submit an assignment through Moodle you will receive both an email confirmation of your submission, as well as a notification record in Moodle.

Why have you done this?

In an effort to empower students in transparency around your assignments, we’ve introduced this feature to give you a clearer indication that your submission has been successfully received.

This is both for your peace of mind, but also for if you need to support a claim of technical submission error. Screenshot of example notification page

Assignment reminders

We have also enabled web-based Reminders for your assignments, that appear out of the new bell icon  at the top of Moodle. These include:

  • Assignment due soon notification – you will receive a pop-up notification in Moodle if an assignment is due in less than 48 hours and you have yet to submit.
  • Assignment due in 7 day notification – same as above, just sent a week in advance.

If you would prefer not to receive these reminders, or you would like them to be Emailed to you as well/instead, you can manage these settings in your Notification preferences.

Note: Assignment submission confirmation emails cannot be turned off.
